Axemen Job Posting - Part-time Executive Director Position

The Axemen Lacrosse Club (“Axemen” or the “Club”) is seeking a dynamic leader to be the Club’s Executive Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing administration and supervision of the Axemen office. The Executive Director shall also assist the Club in representing the Axemen to all outside partners including Calgary District Lacrosse Association (“CDLA”), the Alberta Lacrosse Association (“ALA”), and the Canadian Lacrosse Association (“CLA”).

 

Qualifications:

 

  • A high level of organizational and time management skills
  • Previous experience working with the Axemen would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Lacrosse would be an asset
  • Previous experience with RAMP software would be an asset
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proven experience in developing and executing plans, meeting deadlines, operating under time constraints
  • Exemplary leadership qualities and ability to work effectively with volunteers
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility in work hours as this position requires occasional travel and will require attendance at meetings and events on a seasonal basis
  • Ability to work from home
  • Have a valid drivers license and roadworthy vehicle
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

 

Responsibilities:

 

Programs:

  • Manage registration for all programs (RAMP)
  • Follow up with registration emails and questions
  • Respond to registration emails and questions
  • Assist with coach background checks and training
  • Manage and administer evaluations
  • Reconciliation of volunteer hours
  • Assist in coordinating all logistics for practices, games, and tournaments
  • Book all floor times for club, including evaluations, clinics, special events and practices
  • Work with and provide leadership to the Team managers
  • Provide leadership to the Axemen Board of Directors
  • Secure appropriate insurance for all club activities
  • Develop and update needed reports to keep the board & key volunteers informed and engaged
  • Work with the Treasurer on the financial management of the Club
  • Assist where necessary with Axemen Board of Directors’ committees,
  • Liaison with the CLA, ALA, CDLA
  • Attend Axemen Board of Directors’ meetings (non-voting)
  • Additional duties as needed and directed by the board


Communications:

  • Act as main point of contact for all parents, players, coaches, and partnering organizations
  • Manage organization-wide calendar
  • Send organization-wide e-mails, develop and maintain the Axemen Website (RAMP) and Social Media pages (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)

 

Compensation:

  • Successful candidate will be required to be an independent contractor (as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency
  • Yearly contract annual review
  • Position is based on a 900 hour contract per annum
