Dean Visser Memorial Fund – Grant Program

Monday, April 13, 2026

The Dean Visser Memorial Fund is a youth-focused grant program established to honor Dean Visser’s legacy by fostering leadership, service, and long-term involvement in the lacrosse community. The program is designed to support lacrosse athletes aged 13 to 18 who are interested in giving back to the game through coaching and officiating.

The fund provides a $300 grant to eligible applicants to help reduce financial barriers associated with becoming trained and certified leaders in the sport. Grant funding is specifically intended to cover costs related to:

  • Coaching and officiating clinic registrations
  • Officiating uniform expenses
  • Coaching materials, such as whiteboards, whistles, targets, and other essential training tools

To qualify for the program, applicants must be between 13 and 18 years old and enroll in an approved coaching or officiating clinic. Participants must complete the clinic, achieve a new level of certification or the next certification level, and demonstrate active community involvement.

Additional qualification criteria include:

  • Officials must referee a minimum of five games and achieve a higher level of officiating certification.
  • Coaches must earn a new coaching certification level and provide a coach reference confirming volunteer participation as a coach on a team or at a camp.

Through this program, the Dean Visser Memorial Grant supports the development of knowledgeable, confident, and community-driven coaches and officials, ensuring that Dean Visser’s passion for lacrosse continues to shape and strengthen the sport for future generations.
