Team Trainer Course dates:

Location: Fire Training Academy, 5727 23 Ave SW, Calgary. It’s a red brick building.
Timing: 0800-1600 both days.
- Registered in RAMP (insurance purposes)
- Current VSS police clearance (within the last 3 years)
- Have a current certification noted below:
ALA Regulation 13.05
Trainers must have the appropriate certification. Appropriate certification is defined as one of the following:
• Any St. John Ambulance Emergency First Aid course of 8 hours (or more) or equivalent
• Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & First Responder
• Canadian Red Cross Sport First Responder and Sport Aid course
• Hockey Canada Safety Program (HCSP)
• An appropriate designation (examples: MD; RN; Physiotherapist, Police Officer; Firefighter, Chiropractor; Registered Massage Therapist).
From the above, please be clear CPR (as a stand-alone certification) is not an equivalency.

The ALA recognizes only one trainer per team
If you have the above certifications - please submit via email HERE - PLEASE NOTE YOUR TEAM NUMBER
If you have any of the certifications above - only day 2 attendance is required.
Each team is required to have 2 trainers attend per team.

Notice from Axemen BOD:
As we prepare for the upcoming 2024 Box Lacrosse season, we are reintroducing an enhanced training staff program aimed at elevating our standards and support for our players.
As part of this initiative. there is an additional training courses beyond our governing bodies first aid certifications. Axemen Lacrosse has implemented a specialized course tailored to sport-specific training. This additional course surpasses the requirements by our governing bodies, underscoring Axemen's commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Attendance at these courses is highly recommended and should be attended by a minimum of one member from each team, those co-sharing the trainer role can both attend. If you are unable to attend but have the qualifications below you are still able to be a trainer for your team.

The content covered on Sunday, will encompasses a wide array of essential topics including team management, injury reporting protocols, advanced taping techniques, injury assessment methodologies, equipment management, field response procedures, and lacrosse-specific injury management.
At Axemen Lacrosse, we take great pride in our reputation as leaders in lacrosse initiatives. This revamped training program exemplifies our dedication to raising the bar for the 2024 season.
